Privacy Policy

Plain English, no games. This explains what we collect when you submit music or get in touch, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@wearesleeper.com and we'll explain.

Who we are

Sleeper is a small music team operating from California. We work with established artists and recruit producers to make music we release through them. For anything privacy-related, we're the people responsible for your information, and you can reach us at support@wearesleeper.com.

What we collect

Details you give us - your name (or the name you go by), email, region, and the answers you type into our submission form (your genres, how you work, your background, links, and so on).
The music you send - the track links and any audio files (WAV / MP3) you upload for review.
Consent record - when you submit, we log that you agreed to our Submission Terms, with a timestamp.
Account credentials - when you submit, we create a producer portal account and store a password for it (kept hashed by our authentication provider) so you can log in and track your submission.
Basic technical data - your browser's user-agent and general device/browser info, which we store with your submission for security and spam-prevention (we run an automated honeypot check). We don't build advertising profiles on you.

How we use it

To listen to, review and evaluate your submission.
To reply to you - a clear yes or no - and, if there's a fit, to arrange a call and discuss terms.
To keep a record of who submitted what, and your consent, for our own protection and yours.

That's it. We don't use your submission for anything else, and nothing you send is released, distributed or monetized unless you're selected and sign a separate written agreement first.

Your audio, specifically: your tracks and files are kept private and listened to only by our small review team. We don't post them, sell them, or share them publicly or for advertising. The only outside companies that ever touch them are the trusted, contracted providers that store our files and run our site (for example our storage provider, Supabase) - acting only on our behalf, never for their own use. Ask us to delete them and we will.

How long we keep it

If we don't move forward, we delete or anonymize your submission, audio and personal data within 12 months of our decision - sooner if you ask (we'll always do that), unless the law requires us to keep something. If we sign you, we keep what we need for our working relationship plus what tax and legal records require. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing support@wearesleeper.com.

Your account

Submitting creates a producer portal account tied to your email, with the password you set, so you can log in and track your submission. It stays until you ask us to remove it - email support@wearesleeper.com and we'll delete your account, submission and files.

How we protect your data

Your files and details are stored on infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest, in private (non-public) storage, with access limited to our small review team and controls so producers can only ever see their own data. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures - and if a breach affecting your data ever happens, we'll assess it promptly and notify you, and any authority the law requires, without undue delay.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising. The only parties who touch it are the trusted service providers that help us run the site and receive submissions - for example our cloud storage and database provider (Supabase) and our email provider - and only so they can do that job on our behalf. If Sleeper is ever acquired, merges, or transfers its business, your information may pass to the new owner, who must honor this policy or give you notice and a chance to delete your data first. If we're ever legally required to disclose information, we will, but we'll push back on anything overbroad.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you're in the UK, EU or a similar region, you also have the right to object to or restrict certain uses, and to complain to your local data authority. We rely on your consent (which you give when you submit) and our legitimate interest in reviewing submissions and running the business as the basis for handling your information.

Children

Our site is for people 18 or older and isn't directed to anyone under 18; we don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted, email support@wearesleeper.com and we'll delete it.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies - the ones needed to keep you logged in and make the site work. We don't use analytics or third-party advertising/tracking cookies, so there's nothing to opt into.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. For changes that materially affect data you've already sent us, or that rely on your consent, we'll email you and, where required, ask again before applying them. For minor updates, continuing to use the site means you're okay with the current version.
